A young woman, Carole, the daughter of Chabran, is the steerswoman of the Quai, a brasserie moored in the Rhône at Tain l'Hermitage, between the famous vineyard and Tournon, the Athens of the Vivarois.
The modern-style dining room with its projecting terrace resembles, given a little imagination, the stern of a packet boat ploughing through the waters of the river. Naturally, on sunny days the tables crowd in front of the taffrails. Then, this unique spectacle makes one dream and the produce of the land tastes even better when served here in the fresh air. Ah, how the hours slip by in these aquatic surroundings.
A slightly more contemporary cuisine, which deliciously blends the best of this valley, half-Provençal and half Dauphinois, a cuisine, which draws its inspiration and its authenticity from the produce of the soil and the new flavours.
The last of the Chabran restaurants, this is the third typical Rhône valley establishment of Michel Chabran, combining the conviviality of a brasserie with the modern character of today's restaurants.
